David was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. He was a fun-loving skilled fisherman and a relentless poker player. He brought joy, laughter, and invaluable memories to everyone around him. His love of the Eastern High Sierras and the Pacific Ocean was immeasurable. His greatest peace was found in those sacred spaces.
David found love with his rock, Ana Reza and together they built a family and a home, which will soon include the first grandchild.
David is survived by his wife, Ana Reza; sons Jonathan and Jacob (Selene Gallardo) Wilcox; mother, Susan Fowlkes; and siblings Bob and Bradley Fowlkes, and Kathy (Brad) Mejia; brother-in-law Gabriel (Adriana) Reza; sister-in-law Catherine (Glenn) Gonzalez; along with several nephews, nieces, great nieces, a great nephew, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends that are family.
Most recently, he was preceded in death by his father, Herman Fowlkes, in-laws, Paul and Eleanor Reza, and sister-in-law, Julie Fowlkes.
We will forever remember David as our gentle giant. He was selfless to a fault, capable in a wide range of skills, genuine to everyone he met, and possessed the best luck. More importantly, we will remember his kindness, loving nature, and dedication to his loved ones.
David lived and loved loudly. Leaving us with a well-established legacy to nurture and continue. We love you. Fish on, our newest and brightest star in the sky.
