At 6’5” Bill was a big guy with a big laugh and smile to match. He was passionate about his family, reading, running, and the ocean. He spread love and light to those around him.
Bill was born on April 15, 1943 to William & Catherine Corbett of Bethel, Connecticut. He grew up in Bethel with older sister Peggy and younger sister Kathleen. He graduated from Bethel High School in 1961. During the Vietnam War, Bill enlisted in the Marines and served from 1963-1966. Bill chose Loveland as his home and lived there for over five decades. He owned Corbett Auto and Auto Pawn America.
Water was Bill’s happy place, be it a pool, hot tub, or ocean. He loved to spend time in Florida, floating in the ocean. He was an avid reader and loved to write, too. Bill dedicated himself to helping individuals and families in the community, working as sponsor and support. Bill continued to pursue his passion of running into his 70s, jogging and walking through his neighborhood near Horseshoe Lake.
Bill was affected by Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD) in his later years. Despite limitations to his mobility and speech he continued to demonstrate his kindness and sense of humor. He will be dearly missed.
Those left to cherish Bill's memory include beloved wife Cindy Corbett; children Cristy Giacomini and husband David, John Corbett, Scott Denton and wife Kelly, Christine Lautt and husband Darren, and Cameron Denton and wife Dina. Bill was blessed with seven grandchildren: Ella and Logan Giacomini, Caden Denton, Sydney and Lauren Lautt, Hazel and Roman Denton. He is also survived by sisters Peggy Harris, and Kathleen Corbett and husband Richard Weiner, as well as nieces and nephews Christopher, Melissa, Mica, and Molly.
Services will be held at Resthaven Funeral Home & Memory Gardens. Details are forthcoming. Treasured memories of Bill are welcome at resthavencolorado.com
