Sally Karolee Sullivan DuBois

Sally Karolee Sullivan DuBois went home to her Lord and Savior on August 1, 2024, three days after celebrating her 85th birthday. Sally was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, auntie, friend, and believer in Christ.

Sally was a pillar of strength and grace, known for her unwavering faith, compassion, and dedication to her family. Her warmth and kindness touched many more people besides her family, the lives of everyone who knew her. Throughout her life, she held a variety of significant roles. While helping to support her first husband, Jack Speight, through law school, she contributed to creating maps of Vietnam for the Wyoming ROTC during the war. Sally also served as the fundraising director for the Wyoming Multiple Sclerosis Society, worked in the Wyoming State Legislature in various capacities, and was the personal secretary for Wyoming Governor Sullivan. Her keen business sense led her to a successful real estate and brokerage career in Cheyenne, WY, and briefly in Fort Collins, CO.

Sally volunteered for several organizations: the DePaul Hospital Guild in Cheyenne, Wy., an honored Gold Key volunteer at Poudre Valley Gift Shop for over 25 years and served on the volunteer board for the hospital, served as a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate), the Alpha Center, Head Start classrooms. Sally met many lifelong friends volunteering, her desire to volunteer and care for others touched so many more people.

Sally was an active member in Timberline Church Prime Timers, Bible Study Fellowship International and PEO. She coordinated the women of timberline to make blankets for the pediatric nurses at the Alpha Center. She was involved with the League of Women Voters and was an active newsie and wanted equality for all people.

She is preceded in death by her husband David DuBois. Sally is survived by her three daughters: Shae Swensen of Houston; Tricia and Ray Whynott of Cheyenne; and Jacqui Speight of Fort Collins, CO. Her grandchildren; Taylor and Justus Jacobs and their three sons, Beckam, Bridger, and Bowen Jack of Lander, WY; Jackson and Caitlyn McCue and their daughters Lily Sue (deceased) and Daisy of Albuquerque, NM; Nick and Lauren Whynott of Denver; Madison McCue of Colorado, Sarah Whynott, and her son RayVon of Cheyenne; and Maximilian Speight Haas of Colorado. Sally was also blessed with three step-sons: John and Codi Ann Moritz and their children Braxton, Bridger, Afton, and Ty of Cheyenne. John and Laura DuBois of Arcata, CA, and their children Eli, Alexandra, and Noah; and Patrick (deceased) and Jessica DuBois of Raleigh, NC, and their two children Lucas and Brielle; In total, Sally is remembered by her six grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her presence and will cherish her memory forever.
