7/25/97 - 7/5/24 Ryan crossed his final finish line at 6:06 PM 7/5/24.
Ryan lived a life all about the dash. It was not just about the way he dashed off of the running blocks. It was what he did, who he was…. The dash between his dramatic entrance into the world, and his exit that was just exactly as you would expect it to be that mattered.
Ryan passed surrounded by family, held in the arms of those who loved him. He lived life never knowing a stranger, faster, and more handsome than any man needs to be. He was an athlete, a mentor, a friend, a coach, a brother, son, and grandson. A follower of Christ in spite of the hand he was dealt; his faith returned to him and was a source of peace. His last days were filled with friends and stories. Laughter made way through tears as he lost his body and mind to Glioblastoma. He fought a battle no one has won and did it with tenacity, maturity, grace, love, and compassion.
Ryan is survived by his mother, Angela Benak; brother, Grant Vomacka; father, Rick Vomacka; maternal grandparents, Chuck and Kaye Benak; paternal grandparents, Richard and Ginny Vomacka; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
To know Ryan is to know he does not want you to weep with him. He asked you join us in a Celebration of Life in his honor, wearing your favorite sports attire (preferably KC Chiefs). He was taken too soon, so the statute of limitations has expired. Come tell the stories of the races you won, the few you lost, the trouble you raised, to what you learned together, to the time spent volunteering, or times you rolled up your sleeves for another big adventure. Each is a memory to be cherished.
Join us for a Celebration of Life at 4 pm, July 19, 2024, at Foundations Church in Loveland, CO. There will be a reception to follow.
