Ms. Tedmon was born '2 miles east' of Wellington to Jake and Lydia (Marghiem) Miller on July 22, 1922. Her twin brother did not survive. Lydia married B. Seward Tedmon on April 23, 1944. The two worked the family farm and raised their 4 children there. Lydia lived on the farm happily for 72 years. As a child, Lydia worked the beet fields with her family and helped care for her 6 younger siblings. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, gardening, crossword puzzles, and Dutch Hops. In her later years, she volunteered for Respite Care (Ft. Collins) for many years, enjoyed traveling and 'going to the hills' with her friends.
Lydia is survived by her sister and best friend Hattie Stroh, her children, Lydia Tatman, Steve (Sharon), Juli (Perry) Schrader and Ralph (Teresa), 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a loved extended family of nieces, nephews and cousins. Great-Great Grandmother got to hold the newest grand babies and was excited about 3 great-great grandchildren to be born! Lydia is proceeded in death by her husband Seward of 50 years, her parents, 11 siblings, her first, 'favorite', son-in-law and an infant grandson.
A celebration of Lydia's life will be held at Allnutt Funeral Home at 650 W Drake Rd., Ft. Collins on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Respite Care or Pathways Hospice Care in care of Allnutt Funeral Service.
