Margaret Lorraine Williams, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 12th, 2019. Lorraine was born on August 4th, 1929, in Pueblo, Colorado. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt and friend to many.
She is preceded in death by husband Jimmy Williams, son Kirk Williams, siblings Carolyn, Warren, and Paul Elliott, and parents Wallace and Hazel Elliott. She is survived by son Chris Williams, daughter Julie Williams-Cipriani, son-in-law Tom Williams-Cipriani, sister-in-law Martha Elliott, and grandchildren Christina Kent, Carole Shrader, and Riley and Dylan Williams-Cipriani. She also had six nieces and nephews and four great-grandchildren.
Lorraine was described by one of her nieces as “talented, funny and, yes, crazy Aunt Lorraine”. She had a zest for life and unlimited energy, never sitting still for a moment. She enjoyed the opportunities she had to travel the planet, and loved to dive right into the culture, making new friends wherever she went.
Lorraine was a skilled seamstress, quilter and knitter, all the way back to when she was a very young girl. Her creations were unique and artistic; everything from knitted ski sweaters to wedding dresses. She had an eye for color and beauty. Lorraine decided one day to share her talents and open a fabric, yarn and quilting shop. She had a very successful business in Pueblo, then decided to move her shop to Fort Collins to be closer to family.
Lorraine enjoyed singing in the church choir from an early age and playing the piano as well. She loved to dance, to cook, and was an avid tennis player! She cherished her many cats and a special dog, Jobi, who is easily described as one of her best friends.
She was a long-time member of Timberline Church and dearly loved each and every member of the clergy and congregation. She looked forward to each Sunday with a passion and loved to retell the sermon afterwards to anyone who would listen.
Lorraine will be deeply missed by a large extended family and community of friends. Her Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, October 19th, at Resthaven Funeral Home with a reception to follow.
