JOYCE EBSEN-DOTY

April 26,1928 – June 13,2023

Joyce was born into the Milliken family April 26,1928, in the kitchen of her childhood home on Tipperary Rd. in Hanna Wyoming. She passed peacefully on June 13,2023 in Fort Collins, CO. Preceded in death by her parents William Sutton Milliken and Rachel Jones, 7 brothers and sisters, John, Robert, Marion, Phyllis, Ruth, William Sutton, Earl Dee, and first husband George P. Ebsen.

Joyce grew up in Hanna, and graduated from Hanna High, shortly after graduation, in September of 1949, she married her high school sweetheart George P. Ebsen, who also grew up in Hanna. They owned a small grocery store and the Silver Cabins Motel. It was there they started their family. Soon they decided to move to Colorado, where they landed in Ft. Collins. George worked as a successful insurance agent until his tragic death on September 9, 1962. Joyce decided to remain in Ft. Collins where she attended Cosmetology School and enjoyed her career as a beautician for 40 years. She was also an avid bowler and a member of the American Businesswomen’s Association, where she served as secretary, then was appointed President. Joyce was named 1973 Woman of the Year by that organization.

She is remembered for her wit, Irish sarcasm, wonderful sense of humor and great hugs. A joy to her co-workers, friends and neighbors and a fierce defender of those she loved.

Joyce is survived by her loving husband of 23 years Ken Doty, who she joyfully married on June 17, 2000. They enjoyed travel to many countries and many cities and sights in the US. Also surviving are daughters Georalaine St.John, Cynthia Wallmo and Debra (Dale) Piper-Bergstrom, stepchildren Kenny (Ann)Doty, Deken Doty and Kendy Doty. Grandchildren Laine Beebe, Daniel Wallmo, Michael St. John, Kelly St. John, Chad Doty, Kurt Doty and Renee Birdsell, Lucas Bergstrom, Nicholas Bergstrom and Angela Bergstrom-Neeb and 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11a.m. Friday June 23 at Allnutt 650 West Drake Road Ft. Collins CO.
