Donna John was born April 26, 1927 in Minneapolis, MN where she resided throughout her childhood, and where in 1947 she married Herbert A. Haasarud and had three daughters. In 1958, when the youngest was three years old, the family moved to Berkeley, CA. Donna was a stay-at-home mom for 10 years and then returned to the workforce. She retired from the University of California Office of the President as a Senior Administrative Analyst with 26 years of service. Herb died in 1993. Then in 1997 Donna and her mother Gladys moved to Fort Collins to be near her daughter Linda. In 2004 Donna married George John, who died in 2008. Her youngest daughter Lois Silva died in 2011. She moved into Good Samaritan in 2013 where she lived happily until the end of her life.
Survivors include her brother, Bob (Bev) Thurston; daughters, Sherry (Sid) Rosen and Linda (Dave) Schell; step-son, Steve (Marie) John; and grandchildren, Dionne Silva, Bryan, Allan (Michelle) and Steven (Regina) Schell, Matthew and Julian Rosen, and Jennifer John; fifteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
