Brad was born and raised in Loveland, Colorado. He entered the world on February 23, 1968 and was the second child of Sherry (Whittaker) and Larry Becker. He had an older sister, Tami, and a younger sister, Tresa. Brad was a happy child who loved the outdoors. He could be ornery at times, often grinning from ear to ear, even when he was in trouble.
He graduated from Thompson Valley High School with the class of ’86. During his secondary years, he became an avid wrestler, carrying that passion into adulthood. He proudly coached middle school wrestling throughout Thompson School District for many years. Following high school, Brad further pursued his education at the University of Northern Colorado, where he majored in history and education. In addition to coaching, he taught for several years. He later took a sabbatical from teaching and worked as a Division Manager in insulation.
Brad met the love of his life, Shauna Hall, when they sang together in the high school musical. Shauna was acquainted with Brad’s big sister, Tami, who introduced the two. After some courtship, they dated through the end of high school and temporarily parted ways during college. The universe brought them back together and after just four months of dating, Brad proposed. He wasn’t going to let go of her again. Brad and Shauna were married in Loveland on June 9th, 1990. They had celebrated 33 wonderful years together and had been looking forward to many more. Brad and Shauna were blessed with two beautiful children, Bryson and Brailey.
Brad’s family was his everything. He loved his wife and children unconditionally. He was a devoted father and husband and was a rock for his family. He was a proud father who supported his children in all that they did. Brad protected his children and always cared where they were and what they were doing; whether they liked it or not. He was strict but fair, always looking out for what was best. He welcomed his childrens’ significant others with open arms as if they were his own. When his granddaughter, Emma, was born, he was strict no more. When it came to his grandbaby, there were no rules. Papi was a big softy. To say family was everything to him is an understatement. He was always there for them and was the one they could always count on, no matter what. Words cannot adequately express how deeply Brad will be missed by his family.
Brad was a good soul. He was always hardworking and would do whatever it took to provide for his family. He was kind and generous. He was an intelligent and serious man. He was also lighthearted and good-humored and if you earned it, could be a real goofball. Brad was a man of deep faith who nurtured his relationship with God outside of the church walls. He was a man’s man who loved the outdoors and who loved to share his love with his children. His son Bryson was just two months old the first time he took him camping. He enjoyed fishing but really loved big game hunting. Brad was also a big Colorado sports fan. He was a season ticket holder for the Colorado Eagles and cheered on the Broncos, the Nuggets, the Avalanche, and the Rockies.
Brad was 55 years young at the time of his passing. His family and friends deeply regret the years they won’t get to spend with him but celebrate the time that they had. The world was a better place for having Brad in it. He will truly be missed by all those who knew him.
Brad’s legacy of love and devotion lives on in the hearts and memories of his one true love, Shauna Becker, his children, Bryson Becker (Gabby) and Brailey Becker (Kyle Kochen), and his grandchild, Emma. He is also remembered by his parents, Larry and Sherry Becker, sisters, Tami Moskal and Tresa Giroux (Doug), his furry companions, Murray and Cricket, dear friend, Steve Burch, as well as many others.
