Ralph Lewis Barker, age 83, entered Heaven’s Gates Tuesday, October 30, 2018. He was at home surrounded by his loving family. A viewing for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 6th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette. A service of tribute honoring Ralph will be held Wednesday, November 7th at 10:00 a.m. at Deer Flat Church, 17703 Beet Rd., Caldwell, Idaho. A graveside service is scheduled for that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Payette, Idaho.
Ralph was born September 4, 1935 in Ontario, Oregon to Ernest and Eunice Barker. He grew up on the farm in the Ontario Nyssa area graduating from Ontario High School in 1954. Ralph married Lorraine Turner November 22, 1957. After he and Lorraine were married he turned to the floor covering that was his occupation for 40 years. They lived and raised their three children in Fruitland, celebrating 52 years together until Lorraine’s passing in 2009. He then married Patricia Simonson in 2012 and they were blessed with 6 ½ years together.
Ralph was a dedicated, loving husband, father and grandpa. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of nine and stayed committed to his faith.
Ralph is survived by his wife Pat; two sons, Kevin Barker and wife Christina; Marty Barker and wife Melanie; daughter Carma McGehee and husband Rod; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Those who have gone on before him are his parents; his wife, Lorraine; a baby granddaughter, Colleen; and a daughter-in-law, Nancy.
