Our precious son, Jonathan Henry Unruh, was born on March 2, 2003 at Chico, CA. The angels came for him on July 24, 2018 at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise, ID due to injuries sustained in a vehicle accident.
Jonathan was our third son, in a family of six. We moved to ID when he was 22 months old. He spent a lot of time playing with his older brothers, and was never happier than when riding in the truck with daddy. After his three little sisters came along, he became their big brother and playmate, and they spent many hours together. He was a child with a big heart, and gave freely of himself to his friends and acquaintances. Everywhere we went, he came home with a few more friend names to add to his list. It didn't take much to make Jonathan happy: good food, a friendly smile, a word of appreciation for a job well done...he also loved to sing, and was always ready when anyone picked up a songbook.
He gave his heart to God shortly after his 15th birthday, and was baptized on March 18, 2018. That changed his outlook on life, as Bible reading and prayer became important to him.
Jonathan's dream was to someday drive truck for his Dad, but in the meantime he was employed as farm-hand by Chris Wiebe. Chris gave him part of the farm that was his to look after and that gave him a sense of responsibility that he took seriously. He loved Chris and Jana and their children like his own family, and would often tell us how much he liked working for Chris. We did not know our years together would be so short, and Heaven is now much nearer.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Dwonn and Rosanne, two brothers, Conrad (and fiance, Torie) and Ivan; three sisters, Audrey, Leah, and Holly; paternal grandmother, Becky Unruh, maternal grandparents, Henry and Margit Bueckert; paternal great grandparents, D Eugene and Salome Unruh, and many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Lauren Unruh and a special cousin, Perry Isaac.
