Regina Carpenter was born in Tuscaloosa, Alabama on September 26, 1960, the youngest daughter of Leverd and Doris Mills. She was raised in a devout Christian family and developed a strong relationship with the Lord that sustained her entire life. Regina was a member of Prestonwood Baptist Church.
As a child, Regina enjoyed watching Alabama football with her family and developed a lifelong love of sports. She and her family did a lot of road trips on summer vacations and saw much of the United States. Friendships formed as a child at school and church endure to this day.
After high school, Regina pursued her love of textiles by attending the Mississippi School for Women where she pursued a degree in Fashion and Merchandising. While she was in college, she began dating the love of her life John Carpenter and they married in 1982. Regina financially supported the two of them until John graduated college in 1983. Regina and John moved to Dallas, Texas, where she worked in marketing until she found her true passion in life: being a mother. Marcus was born in 1986, and Emily followed soon after in 1988. She set aside her passion for work and became entirely dedicated to her family and raising her children.
She was a compassionate and thoughtful woman with a giving soul and would go to great lengths to show her affection and often brought gifts to the people surrounding her.
She is survived by her husband, John Carpenter; children, Marcus and Emily Carpenter; grandson, Tobias Carpenter; mother, Doris Mills; and sister, Pam Sewell.
Funeral arrangements will be held at 2pm, on July 1, 2021 at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, TX.
