Margaret Caroline Kraus

Margaret Caroline Kraus, age 97, of Prosper, Texas passed away on Monday, November 27, 2023. She was born November 16, 1926, to her loving parents, Mary Caroline (Westphal) and John Anthony Dorfler in Guttenberg, NJ.

Margaret (Marge) was a native of New Jersey before moving to Carrollton, Texas in 1985.

She was a wonderful mom to 2 girls raised in Rochelle Park and Fair Lawn NJ.

She worked as a Homemaker while her children were in grammar school but became a receptionist/assistant for an ophthalmologist for over 20 years.

She enjoyed doing gardening and lots of home crafts but her favorite was reading.

Margaret was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Eugene W Kraus (1924 -2007), and her firstborn daughter Patricia A Kraus (1947-2022) of Port St Lucie, Florida.

Margaret was survived by her second daughter, Margaret (Peggy) Shirrel, and her husband Bobby Shirrel from Prosper, Texas, where she lived with them for over twelve years before her death.

She is also survived by her two grandsons, Gene Schoepp and his wife, Ginger Schoepp from Preston, WA, Jay Schoepp from Port St. Lucie, FL, and cousin/godson Timothy McAllister from Deltona Beach, FL.

Also needed to mention, other close friends, like a son and a daughter, Harry Kebabian, and his wife Peggy Kebabjian from Myrtle Beach, SC.

A small ceremony was held in her honor on December 12th, 2023 as her ashes are placed in the columbarium with her husband Eugene W Kraus at Prince of Peace Catholic Church Plano Texas.
