Judith Pearl Bellue

Judith Pearl Blackwood was born on April 25, 1943 in Dallas, Texas to Charles and Inez Blackwood. She grew up in Dallas and attended Baylor University, where she met her husband and love of her life, Dan Bellue. She graduated from Baylor with a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1965. Her daughter, Erin, was born while Dan and Judy were at Texas A&M while Dan was attending school. From there they moved to England, where Dan served as a Weather Officer at RAF Wethersfield and Judy taught school on base. While stationed at Wethersfield their son, Kyle, was born. Dan left active duty in the Air Force and returned to the United States to begin his career and attend graduate school at Texas A&M to complete a Masters of Science degree in Meteorology and Judy continued teaching in local public schools. Because of Dan’s job with the National Weather Service, they moved to New Orleans, LA, San Antonio, TX, and Arlington, TX where she began teaching at Pantego Christian Academy.

In 1984 Dan accepted a job at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Clear Lake City, Texas providing weather support to the Space Shuttle program and Judy began teaching at Pine Drive Christian School, eventually serving as the school administrator for more than 12 years. In 2006, Dan retired from NASA and they moved to Frisco, Texas, where Judy began teaching at Legacy Christian Academy. Judy taught middle school math and science for over 15 years before her retirement in 2021. Judy loved to read, play the piano, and raise dogs, especially miniature dachshunds. She also loved to give of herself in serving her family, her students, and her local body of Believers. But her favorite time was spent with her beautiful granddaughters, who affectionately named her “Bob”.

Judy is survived by her daughter, Erin, her son, Kyle, daughter-in-law, Jeannene, precious granddaughters, Laynie and Addison, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at Prestonwood Baptist Church – North Campus in Prosper, Texas on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 10am.
