At Buena High School, Joe was known for being the class clown – bringing a smile to every face he encountered. He graduated in 1985 and then took that same infections energy to the army for a short period of time. After leaving the army, Joe’s charisma and people skills brought him to sales, where he remained for the rest of his career. In addition to his day job at Tri-Win, he started an insurance business with his brother, Jim Gateley, called MedSup of Texas. A devout Christian, he was a member of a men’s bible study group from Preston Trail Community Church. When he wasn’t fellowshipping with other believers, he was spending time with his family. He loved to read bedtime stories to and play games with his only granddaughter, Charlie Kroner, and spend time with his daughters, Amber and Gabby Gateley. While he was primarily a family and faith centered man, he still found love in his heart for his many favorite sports teams, often making game day a family affair.
Joe is survived by his two daughters, Amber and Gabrielle Gateley, one granddaughter, Charlie Kroner, his step-mother, Sandra Fromburg, two brothers, Jon and Jim Gateley, and three half-sisters. His father predeceased him in 2017.
