It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jacinto A. Referente, fondly known as “Intong” to his family in the Philippines and “Jack” to those who knew him in America. Jacinto was born on February 5, 1944, in Cotabato City, Philippines, to Dr. Jose Referente, a distinguished dentist and Dean of Dentistry at National University and Manila Central University, and Eugenia Referente, a dedicated teacher.
For 30 years, Jacinto served as a Customs Police in the Philippines, a role he filled with commitment and honor. In 1999, he moved to the United States, where he continued to embody a spirit of hard work and dedication. He worked with his brother at his gas station and later joined.
Jacinto is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Rosalina J. Referente, his children Karen Patricia R. Madrid and her husband Mark Anthony G. Madrid, Sherryl A. Lafortune and her husband Jonathan P. Lafortune, and Jason J. Referente and his wife Jenine C. Referente. He was a proud grandfather to his cherished grandson, Jaxson George C. Referente.
A Memorial Service to honor Jacinto's life will be held on November 15, 2024, at 5 PM. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in remembering a life well-lived and a legacy of kindness, strength, and dedication. Jacinto will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all he touched.
