Gary was born on September 18, 1945, in Independence, Kansas, to Charles Howard and Roberta Eleanor Jones. When Gary was a young child, Howard and Roberta moved their family to Stinnett, Texas, where Gary would grow up, graduating from Stinnett High School in 1964. Gary then attended college at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. After college, Gary worked for Panhandle Eastern Pipeline Company until he retired in 1999. Upon retiring, Gary built a second career as President and owner of Sunrise Manufacturing, in Dallas, Texas. Gary loved to play golf with his buddies in the Plantation Resort Senior Golf League. He also enjoyed bass fishing and hosting friends and family over for cookouts.
Gary, a devoted husband and father, is survived by his wife Jeannie of 56 years and his sons, Alan and his wife Laura; Mark and his fiancé Jaye; and Greg and his wife Misti; ten grandchildren: Seth, April, Melissa, Matthew, Derek ( wife Shayna), Madison, Katelyn, Tashina (husband Matt), Destanee, and Easton; and eleven great-grandchildren, Maci, Copeland, Neva, Teegan, Taylor, Maverick, Lakynn, Oaklee, Kinslee, Gaviln, and Kenadee; a grand-dog, Samm and two great grand-dogs, Lula Mae and Harley. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law: Danny and Kim Brawley, Carol and Kenneth Brown, Susie and Mark Graves, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, J.P. Jones, a grandson, Dustee, a great granddaughter Tulsa, and father and mother-in-law, Gaenell and Onna Brawley.
Gary will be remembered for his wit, dedication, and deep love for his family and friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who know and love him dearly.
