Frank J. Quirk, a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather, has left this world, leaving a void in our hearts. Frank passed away on June 28th, 2023, in Frisco, Texas, at the age of 89, surrounded by his family as he went to eternal rest in his Heavenly home.
Born March 13, 1934 to Bridget and William Quirk in Fortune Harbor, Newfoundland, Canada, he spent his formative years building a foundation of cherished memories, a strong work ethic and family values that stayed with him for his lifetime. As a young man, he moved to New York to marry and start a new life with his love, Margaret (Joan) O'Grady. Frank and Joan built a beautiful life together in Yorktown Heights, New York, where they raised their four children, William, Laura, Diane and Daniel. Their 65-year marriage was an enduring example of commitment, faith, and companionship as they shared life’s ups and downs together.
Frank was a hardworking man of strength, integrity and dedication to his family. He was a man of many talents and embraced a variety of jobs throughout his life, honing his skills and leaving an indelible mark on each endeavor. From his early days in New York City to his eventual role as Maintenance Supervisor in Yorktown Heights, Frank demonstrated unwavering commitment to his profession as well.
Frank's love for his roots remained steadfast throughout his life, a testament to the strong ties he held with his upbringing and the importance of family. His homeland of Fortune Harbor, Newfoundland always held a special place in Frank’s heart. He cherished the annual tradition of returning to his childhood home, reuniting with family and friends, and sharing his hospitality to create lasting memories.
Frank's greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved: his wife and children, his six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, and a large extended family, who filled his life with joy. He was an avid fan of all sports, but found no greater pleasure than in watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in the activities in which they excelled.
Frank Quirk will be dearly missed by family and friends and all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, family values, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life.
Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at 11am at Stonebriar Funeral Home, 10375 Preston Rd, Frisco, TX 75033
