Edward worked in the restaurant business before switching careers in the late 1980s, where he spent over 35 years developing and implementing property management software. While Edward was dedicated to his work, what truly brought him joy was spending time with his family, particularly when he was traveling around the country to watch baseball games. He was a big fan of the Chicago Cubs and always tried to catch them on television or on the radio. He also enjoyed golf, spending time playing with family and friends. Edward had the opportunity to volunteer at multiple PGA tournaments, including the US Open at Olympia Fields in 2003. Edward was heavily involved in serving through his church in Lindenhurst, Illinois, where he and his friends led worship for over 15 years. Through church, he was able to serve through prison ministry, attending many events in multiple states across the country.
Edward was preceded in death by his mother, Judith Gray (Rapasky) in 2006 and his father, Edward Gray Sr in 2020. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Connie Gray (Taylor), his son, John Gray, and his siblings, Lorie Toms (Gray), Michael Gray, and Heather Miller (Gray).
A Celebration of Life Service will be scheduled at a later date and will take place in Illinois.
