Due to his father’s ministry, Doyle spent his early childhood in Arizona, Colorado, and Texas. Eventually the family relocated to Oklahoma City, where Doyle graduated high school from Grace Christian Academy in 1982. He attended college at Southern Bible College in Houston, Texas, and was married to Melissa Clark in 1989. Doyle was a talker, and anyone who met him knew how he loved to make people laugh. Sales, therefore, was a natural fit. Most of his career in sales was in the heavy equipment industry in Oklahoma and Texas. It was here that he and Melissa raised a family. He won numerous sales competitions—too many in fact to count, but some of his most recent awards were Top Retail Salesman in 2018 and Top Salesman in North America at Bell Equipment.
Doyle had many interests and passions. He loved visiting with family on holidays and birthdays, grabbing coffee with friends, or catching up with others on the phone—usually in his truck going to different job sites, and if you phoned Doyle when he was in his truck, he was either listening to a book on tape, a radio sports show or a podcast sermon. Doyle also loved making music and singing. He played the guitar and drums and treasured the eight years he was part of the worship team at Gateway Church in Frisco. Doyle was also passionate about reading the Bible. He woke early in the morning and devoured the Scriptures, spending most mornings over an hour in the Bible with a cup of coffee nearby. Doyle especially loved the Old Testament, and he greatly admired the biblical character David. The ancient king was a skilled musician and song writer himself, writing most of the book of Psalms. Scripture tells us that David was “a man after God’s own heart” and that’s something Doyle sought to be as well.
Doyle was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Samuel Clemons; and his father-in-law, Mike Clark.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Clemons; his daughter, Ariel Cooper and husband Greg; his two sons, Jacob Clemons and Joshua Clemons; his mother-in-law, Jimmie Clark; his sister-in-law, Stephanie Clark and husband Eddie; his two grandsons Ethan Cooper and Austin Cooper; his mother, Sandra Clemons; his sister, Glenda Brown and husband Rick; his sister, Gayla Cotton and husband Bobby; and his brother, David Clemons and wife Miranda. Doyle is also survived by many beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, and we can’t forget about his dog, Emmett!
