Donna Ann Haynes, 60, of Dallas, Texas, went home to be with her Lord Jesus on February 27, 2019 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center in McKinney, TX due to complications with pneumonia. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her family.
Donna is survived by her husband Donnie Haynes, daughter Christin and son-in-law Joshua O’Farrell, son Benjamin Haynes and fiancé Candace, daughter Danielle and son-in-law Jacob Dufrene, grandchildren Liam, Jameson, Coy and Viviann, mother Patricia Cundiff, and sister Cathi Cundiff Fogarty.
Born on December 19, 1958 in Versailles, Kentucky to Donald and Patricia (Grossenbach) Cundiff, Donna graduated from Woodford County High school. She went on to get a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Kentucky and her Masters in Nursing from Washington State University, Pullman, Washington.
Donna met her husband Donnie while working as a nurse at his father’s clinic in Lexington, Kentucky. She captured his heart the moment he laid eyes on her. After a brief period of dating, the two were married on August 22, 1981. They immediately moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma, where Donnie attended Oral Roberts University. After his graduation, the young couple moved to Dallas Texas where they served on the ministry staff at Word of Faith for four years. In 1989, Donna and Donnie moved to Pullman, Washington where they served Calvary Christian Center for 25 years. In the fall of 2015, the Haynes’ returned to the Dallas area to establish the Word of Life Ministry Center.
Besides serving alongside her husband in the ministry, Donna was an accomplished nurse who was known for her excellence and vision. She had a long and successful career as a leader in the nursing field. Most recently she worked for Health Stream of Nashville, TN in Resuscitation and Simulation, as a Nurse Recruiter for the US Department of Veteran of Affairs in Dallas Texas, and as a Nurse Educator and Recruiter at Pullman Regional Hospital in Pullman, WA.
Married to the love of her life for over 37 years, she and Donnie raised three beautiful children. Donna was absolutely devoted to her husband and children. She was a wife who supported, respected and loved her husband unconditionally and a mother who always involved herself in every detail of her children’s lives, providing them with wings to fly as she cheered on their successes.
Donna Ann Haynes was a blessing to all who were acquainted with her. Her leadership and beautiful spirit changed those who were privileged to know her. A woman of strong faith, Donna walked out her belief in the goodness and love of her Lord Jesus with a real passion to serve her community.
Hers was a life blessed and beautifully lived.
