He was born and raised in Liberal, Kansas to Robert “Bob” and Carolyn Patton.
In July 1992, Chad graduated from Kansas State University and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Air Force, which began his professional calling to defend and serve the United States. During the next 23 years of his military service, Chad’s assignments sent him around the world, including Tinker AFB OK; NATO AB Geilenkirchen, Germany; Langley AFB VA; Prince Sultan AB, Saudi Arabia; MacDill AFB FL; Randolph AFB TX; US Joint Forces Command, VA; and Camp Smith HI. He deployed and served in various military campaigns such as OPERATION ALLIED FORCE and OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM. Throughout his career, he earned numerous military honors, awards, and decorations including the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and Meritorious Service Medal.
Retiring in 2015, Chad and his family moved to the Dallas/Fort Worth area, and Chad began a second career as a project manager.
Chad was known for always thinking several steps ahead of everyone else in the room, his incredible Excel spreadsheets, and his ability to fill a white board. He loved to travel and enjoyed gardening, snorkeling, fishing, and spending time with his family and dogs.
Chad is survived by his wife, Robin; children Alexander and Anali; parents, Bob and Carolyn Patton; brothers Brian Graham and Derek Patton (Belem), and sister Christy Eiguren, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life memorial service for Chad will be held Friday, September 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Stonebriar Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 10375 Preston Road, Frisco, TX 75033. A live stream link will be provided.
