Passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Leonard will be reunited with his loving wife, Sarah D. Dominguez, who passed away ten years ago, on January 21, 2003. They were happily married for 37 years. He was a father, Godfather, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, brother-in-law and friend.
He was born in Fresno, Ca, on May 27, 1935 and attended Washington Union High School and Fresno City College. He joined the armed forces and achieved the rank of Staff Sergeant in the 101st Airborne Infantry. Leonard and three business partners started with not much but, built a thriving tool and dye making business United Western Industries, that still produces high quality products to this day.
Leonard was known as the Godfather to the Diaz sisters and bro- ther-in-laws and helped out many others. He was fortunate to continue on through life despite two liver transplants and ten years of dialysis showing what a strong man he was and a testament to his respectability.
He is survived by his sister, Dolores Reed; brother, Ferd Dominguez; sons, Zenon Matthew Dominguez III, Martin Dominguez and his wife Dina A; daughters, Stephanie Talkington, Jeannette Dominguez and Sylvia De La Cruz; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, numerous in-laws and extended family.
Visitation will be held at Lisle Funeral Home, on Tuesday, January 29, 2013, from 10:00 am until 7:00 pm and followed by the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Shrine of St. Therese Church on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 10:00 am. Interment to follow St. Peters.
