Shirley Lee Sherer was born to Lloyd Charles Sherer and Dorothy Davis Miller Sherer.
Shirley married Gary Roberts in June of 1961 and had three children.
She is preceded in death by her father Lloyd, her mother Dorothy, and her brother Bill.
She is survived by her son Gary Roberts/Victoria; daughter Wendy Del Real/Andrew; and daughter Melany Felton/Brandt Clarke.
She is survived by her grandchildren Elijah Roberts, Micah Roberts, Drew Del Real, Stanley Felton, and Honoria Felton.
Shirley graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1957 and played the clarinet and glockenspiel in their band. Shirley then graduated from Fresno State in 1961 and served as a Fresno Unified elementary school teacher for many years.
Shirley was a past Honor Queen in Job’s Daughters and was an active member of the Church of the Brethren and Fresno First Baptist Church, having participated in worship groups, choir, and handbell choir.
She loved to crochet, knit, cross stitch, cake decorate, and camp. Her family was her pride and joy and she lovingly supported her children and grandchildren in their various academic, sports, and musical activities
A graveside service for Shirley will be held Tuesday, June 13, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N Teilman Ave, Fresno, CA 93706.
