Ruth was born to Jacob Weber and Katherine (Rodie) Weber on May 17, 1918 in Reedley, California. Her early years were spent living on a ranch run by her widowed mother and her siblings. She graduated from Reedley High School, went to a secretarial school and entered the business world spending the majority of her working years at West Coast Growers and Packers, the home of "Cinderella Raisins." She lived with her mother and sister, Ida throughout her life. Known by the family as "The Girls", she and Ida cared for their mother until she passed away and continued the family unit participating in family celebrations and hosting dinners at their home. A piece of her Lemon Pie was a welcome treat at family gatherings. She was predeceased by her parents; her sisters, Lydia (Doris) Haynes and Edna Hullender; her brothers, Jack, August, Walter, Alex, and her twin,Reinhold Boas; her brothers-in-law Bill Haynes and Woodrow Hullender; and sister-in-law, Ann Weber.
She is survived by her sister, Ida Weber and sister-in-law, Lydia Weber , nieces Marjorie Sittner and husband Ronald, Kathleen Hinton and husband Dr. J. Philip A. Hinton of Fresno, CA and Carol Ann Weber of Las Vegas, NV; nephews Stanley Hullender and wife Karen of Savannah, GA as well numerous great and great great nieces and nephews.
Special thanks and appreciation go to Phil and Kathy for their overarching support for Ruth's well being in all the moves and weekly visits to monitor and provide necessary care and to Nancy Kimura who attended to her basic needs in the last few years and motivated her to do more than we thought possible. Finally, commendations to the staff at Green Villa Residential Home and to Nancy Hinds Hospice for their comfort and care. Private family services will be held at a later date.
