Our mother, Ruth Molly Koehler, passed into the loving arms of God during her sleep on Wednesday, July 13, 2016. She was born on July 22, 1921, in Culbertson, NE to August and Marie Barbara (Walter) Sinner, German immigrants from the Volga River in Russia.
In 1930, her parents sold their hotel and auto garage business and moved the family to Fresno, CA. She graduated from Roosevelt High School and later fell in love and married a handsome young man, Manuel Koehler, from Brush, CO. They lived happily together for 60 years until our dad's passing in 2002.
She was a loving mother, homemaker, and worked for several years in the housewares department for Gottschalks Department Stores on the Fulton Mall. After dad's retirement, they enjoyed time with family and wonderful friends, many from their long involvement at Calvary Presbyterian Church, and liked traveling. She was a talented knitter and crocheter, and in these recent years, we could hardly keep her in yarn as she turned out an untold number of scarfs, blankets, and beanies that she donated to the kids at Valley Children's Hospital.
The family thanks the wonderful caregivers at Orchard Park in Clovis; and Brookdale Fountaingrove and Sutter Home Hospice in Santa Rosa, CA, that made her comfortable this last year.
A Graveside Service will be held at Belmont Memorial Park, 201 N. Teilman Ave., Fresno, CA on Monday, August 1, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., to which friends are invited.
