Ron was born on October 26, 1938, in Madera California to Rose Ghimenti and Ezio Magri. Later his mother and stepfather John Aliano moved the family to Fresno where Ron grew up. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in 1956, Ron was hired by Pacific Gas & Electric. There he had a long and successful career for 45 years and was a member of the IBEW Local 1245. In the early stages of his career, he also served in the Air National Guard until 1962.
During that time, Ron met his neighbor and future wife, Sharon Weaver. The two were married on September 21, 1963, in Carmel, California and shared the next 59 years together. Shortly after marrying, Ron and Sharon welcomed their first child Vincent. Over the next four years, their family grew, with daughters Deana and Danielle.
Ron was proud of his Italian heritage and after retiring, him and Sharon enjoyed traveling across Europe and visiting relatives in Italy. He was a member of the Dante Club and always looked forward to attending the cousin's dinner.
The Fresno State Bulldogs had a special place in Ron's heart. He was a booster for over 20 years and loved supporting the school's athletic program.
Ron was a respected man and had many friends. He enjoyed spending time with family and sharing his wisdom. He was a wealth of knowledge and could take you on a journey through his detailed stories.
He was a beloved, son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother and stepfather Rose and John Aliano and his father Ezio Magri. He is survived by his wife Sharon and three children, Vincent (Laura Wagner) Magri, Deana Jack, and Danielle (Zane) Griggs. He is also survived by his nephew Eric (Jolene) Gennetti, his nine grandchildren Jordan (Sean) Blick, Nicole Magri, Amanda Griggs, Macy (Cameron) Sharp, Madelyn Jack, Allison Jack, Zac Griggs, Isabella Griggs, Jett Griggs, and two great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2022, from 4:00-6:00pm with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:30pm.
Mass will be held Thursday, December 29, 2022, at10:00am at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Private Committal Service will follow.
