It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Rodney, “Rod,” Keith Jones, age 61, passed away Sunday, June 20, 2021, at Community Regional Medical Center. Rod was born in Fresno, CA on October 23, 1959, and was raised by his mother and father, Patty and Richard Jones. He was a loving father of three daughters Cassidy, Nicole, and Miranda Jones; he was also a younger brother to Sandra, “Sandy” Efird.
Rod graduated from Fresno High in 1977. He then continued his education at Fresno State where he was a member of Lambda Chi Fraternity and graduated with the class of 1981 with a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Business. He then successfully developed a beverage distributing company, R.K. Jones Enterprise, where he worked for over 25 years.
Rod enjoyed many outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, farming, gardening (particularly his Sago Palms), and barbecuing for family. He also enjoyed playing poker with the guys, chatting it up on the phone with loved ones, and listening to country music. Rod was known for being extremely social and always thought he was the funniest guy in the room.
In 2010, Rod was involved in an accident that left him partially paralyzed from the neck down, despite this, Rod managed to keep up with his social status by never forgetting to call a friend or family member and never letting his enthusiastic (and sometimes nosey) personality change.
The family will be celebrating Rodney’s life on Tuesday, July 6, 2021, at 11 am at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home, 836 E. Nees Ave, Fresno, CA 93720
