Robert Orville Robinson was born on June 14, 1922 and passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at the age of 94. He was born in Athol, Idaho to Elmer and Esther Robinson. He was the first son and second child of ten children. The family moved to Fresno when Bob was a young boy and lived on farms in the Easton area. He graduated from Washington Union High School where he was a star athlete and senior class president.
Upon returning home from serving in the army during WW II he married Frances “Frankie” Gould, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. He started Robinson’s Auto Body Shop in the 1950’s and later Robinson’s Auto Dismantling. He and Frankie worked together on both of their businesses. One of Bob’s hobbies was restoring antique cars. As a family they enjoyed going on tours with the Horseless Carriage Club to many beautiful places & making many lifelong friends. Bob & Frankie especially enjoyed the time they spent at their ranch in Easton.
Bob enjoyed spending time with his family; this included his brothers, sisters and all his nieces and nephews. He is survived by his daughters Lynn Christian & her husband Craig of Carmel, Deborah Robinson & grandson Michael of San Rafael. Frankie, his beloved wife, passed away in 2015 at the age of 90. They had a long and wonderful life together.
Bob will always be remembered for his love for his family, his kindness, generosity and indelible fighting spirit. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend and will be greatly missed.
Bob’s family wants to thank the staff at Sunrise Assisted Living & Dr. Roger Brown for their kind care. Private services were held at Washington Colony Cemetery.
