Marvin was born to Willie and Lola Stewart on January 14, 1946 in Fresno, California. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved step-father: Orval Myers, and two brothers: Charlie and John Stewart,
Marvin is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Maples) Stewart, one son: Charlie Stewart, and two daughters: Beverly Bode and Tina Stewart and one son-in-law Chuck Bode, three grandchildren: Kyrstin Bode, Sam and Hope Stewart and two great-grandchildren: Aubrianna and Hailey Bode-Spraklin, whom he loved very much. He also leaves behind brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin retired from the military serving the United States Army for twenty years. He also retired from the U.S. Post Office. He was a loving husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was raised in Madera, California and then a long-time resident of Fresno, California.
Marvin never knew a stranger. He was active in the ‘stand downs’ held by the California Veterans Association as well as the ‘Take a Soldier Fishing’ events held through the US Army Corps of Engineers. Marvin was also an active member of the Fresno Bass Club.
A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, March 8, 2021 at 10:00 am at Fresno Memorial Gardens. Graveside Services will be limited due to Covid.
