Marion Leona Durman Jordan was born on a farm near Orion, Illinois on November 13, 1921 to Chauncey and Esther Durman. She attended a one room rural school for eight grades. She graduated from Orion Community High School on May 26, 1939. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church and for a number of years attended Calvary Lutheran Church in Moline, Illinois where she sang in the choir and was in the Luther League.
In 1942, she attended the Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minnesota and in 1943 she took courses at Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois while working in the office of the Moline Lutheran Hospital. On September 8, 1944 she married Philip A. Jordan, a senior at Augustana Theological Seminary in Rock Island, Illinois. In 1950, their family moved to Fresno, California where he became Pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Marion always enjoyed being a Pastor's wife and served in various capacities, such as directing Sunday School, organizing youth programs, leading women's programs, and teaching the Bethel Adult Education program. In addition to teaching, she was a gracious hostess at many parsonage events.
In 1969, she was licensed by the Department of Social Welfare of Fresno County to care for infants who were awaiting adoption and did this for several years.
Travel was a great joy in her life. Together with her husband, they made numerous trips in the United States and overseas. Marion always organized the pictures after trips to help remember the good times.
Her husband and their four children preceded her in death: Philip A. Jordan 1917-2011; Stephen Eugene Jordan 1946-2005; Ruth Marie Jordan 1948-1952; Beth Ann Hedin 1953-2011; Daniel Arthur Jordan 1956-1988.

Daughter-in-law, Jennifer Jordan of Fresno, CA and son-in-law, Paul Hedin of Evergreen, CO.
Grandchildren: Taylor Jordan of Colorado Springs, CO; Matthew Jordan and wife Jean of Fresno, CA; Andrea Kuhner and husband Mike of Davis, CA; David Hedin of Evergreen, CO; and Diana Olson and husband Jake of Aurora, CO.
Great-Grandchildren: Ashley and Andrew Jordan of Fresno, CA; Jason and Casey Kuhner of Davis, CA; and Ava Olson of Aurora, CO.
Nieces and Nephews: Neal Johnson and wife Jan of Fresno, CA; Eleanor Saltzman and husband Mark of Visalia, CA; Lois Loofbourrow of Antelope, CA; Neal Stafford of Woodburn, OR; and Jennifer Engelson and husband Dean of Shingle Springs, CA.
