Linda Lee Mills was born on June 27,1950 in Merced, CA to Clarence
Eugene and Mary Ophelia Dillinger. Linda was the youngest of four
children. Linda spent most of her childhood in Merced, CA with her
grandparents Ollie and Charles Lowdermilk. The family moved around a
lot for work. They traveled back and forth from California and Nevada. The
family finally settled in Fresno, CA where she attended Fresno High School
and met Alfred Fry.
They dated throughout high school and married two days after she turned
18 on June 29, 1968. The two honeymooned at Disneyland. Linda and Al
loved Disneyland and would try to vacation there every year. Linda then
became a mother to her only child Angelia on May 13, 1970. Linda spent
her days raising her daughter and keep up the household. She always had
other children around including raising her nephew Lewis for a few years as
well as taking care of her grandfather Charles until his death in 1980.
Linda devoted her time to her daughter and many school functions. She
was always at the school to help. She was leader in the Herndon 4-H Club
and the Fresno Central FFA. She was always ready to help, drive and
organize many functions to help her daughter and friends. Linda and Al
were also members of the Fresno T-Bird Club and went to many car shows
to show off her 1962 T-Bird. Linda would also travel with Al delivering
countless Gregor Aluminum Fishing boats across 11 western states and
Canada.
Linda and Al always spent their Fridays nights with close friends Bill and
Jeannie playing cards, marbles and board games. They shared many
traditions over the years.
Linda then took care of Al when he was sick with cancer until his death in
1997. After Al's death she dedicated herself to her grandchildren Erica and
Nicholas. They became her life and enjoyed every minute that she spent
with them. She would take them to car shows, movies, trips to Auntie’s
house in Healdsburg and numerous trips to Disneyland and of course
Disney on Ice shows. She also spent her Tuesday nights with Erica and
Nicholas for music with the Old Good Times Band at the Old Fresno
do.. She enjoyed the grandchildren staying the night with her so that
she could watch Disney movies with them and make Mickey Mouse waffles
in the morning.
Linda then reconnected with an old boyfriend and married Butch Mills in
2001. They spent alot of time going to senior softball games and traveled
to the coast with many of the softball family. She then took in her father
Gene after her mother Mary passed and took care of him until his death.
She was married to Butch until he left in 2019. She then turned to her
family for support and would pop in at the shop to hang out with her
daughter during work and socialize with the customers. She would also pop
in to her granddaughter's house to play with her great-grandchildren Leah
and Ryan. They were truly the apples of her eye. She wanted to do
everything with them.
Linda was then diagnosed with dementia in 2020 and needed some extra
help. She left her home of 47 years and moved into Magnolia Crossing.
She met a lot of wonderful residents and terrific staff members that became
another part of her family. Linda went on to be with her Lord and Savior on
March 31, 2023.
She was a social butterfly with a big heart that welcomed so many people
into her life. She went out of her way to offer a hand to anyone she could
until no longer possible. She is finally at peace.
Linda was proceeded in death by her husband Alfred Fry, Father Eugene
Dillinger, Mother Mary Dillinger, Sister Marcella Wood, Brother Kenneth
Dillinger and Brother Baby Dillinger.
Linda is survived by her Daughter Angelia Luiz and son-in-law Eric Luiz,
