Linda was born to Eleanor and Manuel Ruiz on February 2, 1948, in Dos Palos, California. She was the sixth born of seven children. She moved to Fresno in 1959 and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1966. She married Ronald Ruben Huizar on December 16, 1972 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and gave
birth to two children, Lorraine and Ryan.
Linda worked various jobs through her life but most notable and distinguished was her career at Fresno State from 1982-2017. She started as a cashier, and progressed to an Accounts Payable Technician, a Supervising Cashier, and retired as a Student Accounting Technician III. She then returned as a retired annuitant and worked in the areas of Office Receptionist, Cashiering, Student Accounts, Travel Desk and Accounts Payable. She was trusted to work numerous positions in the office and did so willingly.
Linda loved spending time with her family and friends; enjoyed going to the movies with her husband; shopping; looking at model homes; writing poetry and relaxing at the beach. She especially enjoyed time with her grandchildren and encouraged everyone to always "listen to the children". Her laugh was hearty
and will always be remembered.
Linda leaves behind her husband Ronald, her daughter and son-in-law Lorraine and Bryan Pok, her son and daughter-in-law Ryan and Kathy Huizar, her grandchildren Priscilla, Kennedy, Savannah, Brady and Gunner, her brothers Michael and Danny Ruiz and her sisters, Lily Sandoval and Mary Frances Guerra.
Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, Burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm followed by Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 4:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Monday April 30, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Clovis Cemetery.
