On December 27, 1944, he married Laura Virginia Goins. In the summer of 1946, they moved to California with their infant daughter, settling in Bakersfield, CA, where they would begin to raise their family. They were members of Wayside Southern Baptist Church where Leonard was a youth leader. They moved to Fresno, CA in 1963, where they have lived for 53 years.
Leonard worked in the automotive industry and earned the title "Mr. Chevy" due to his love of all Chevrolets. He belonged to numerous car clubs including "Vintage Chevrolet Club of America."
He was preceded in death by his only sibling, Betty Ruth Britt.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Laura Virginia (Goins) Jordan; his daughters, Glenda Rose and husband Ron, Betty Plett and husband Gary, Kay Hall and husband Roger, and Trisha Hedstrom and husband Ray; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel, 202 N. Teilman Ave., Fresno, CA 93706, on Friday, March, 17, 2017, at 1:00 p.m.
A Burial will be private.
