It is with great sadness that I have to say goodbye to my soulmate. I loved you so very much. I adored you. I always felt content when I was with you. Your love was the real thing. We had so much fun traveling around the world... thank you for that. My Laura was a very caring woman. She loved me so much. I know Heaven is forever changed now that you have arrived. I loved you an indescribable amount and I will never forget you. Thank you for all the good times and great meals we shared together. Rest In Peace with God my Love.

Psalm 115:16 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of a saint.  Laura first quoted that verse to me, telling me that we have our concept of death all wrong and for the believer it is a day of victory not surrender.  The race has been WON, and Laura is today a WINNER.
She wasn’t a gossip but if she had something to say she would.  She spoke a hard truth to me many years ago.  It was not so easy to hear then, although her words have come to pass.  She was crying before the Lord.  She said to him “I prayed for the wife of my son for all these years and you send me Debbie?”  She said God showed her a picture, of a small lump of dough.  He said to her “this is Debbie, but she shall rise”.  Then the picture changed to a loaf of bread overflowing the edges, fully risen.  She was excited, because she saw the end from the beginning.  That rising took a long time and in the process I learned a thing or hundred from Laura.  Things I had no clue about like cooking, housekeeping, practical matters, monetary matters, design and style, and yes even a little about cake decorating.  I learned that if something must be done, it’s best to face it matter of factly and just do it.   Laura was very grounded in logic and sound “uncommon” sense. But what few knew, is that Laura had a very soft heart.  She would cry literal tears, taking her concerns to the Lord and once she heard from him, she would get up knowing he heard and she went her way in peace.  I learned real faith from Laura.  I have seen her go through some of her darkest hours with a faith and commitment that never wavered.  She fought for those she loved, but she fought in the highest courts where she knew her petitions were heard.  I know if you are here now, likely your case has been heard and won in the Courts of God carried there by Laura.  God knows, and she is celebrating wildly now because the last case she carried to him was heard and she WON.  She won the victory.  God bless her, she only knew how to win.

I think my favorite memory of grams would have to be on Thanksgiving morning. Every Thanksgiving we all had a specific job to do. The Thanksgiving day parade would be on and my specific job for the day was usually peeling potatoes, days later the rust from the potato peeler would still be stuck into my hands. Every Thanksgiving morning we had blueberry muffins and grams ambrosia, the house would be warm and toasty and grams would be working hard all day to prepare us a Thanksgiving meal and it was always delicious. Grams taught me so many things and not a day goes by that I don’t think about at least one thing that I learned from her. She definitely taught me how to “warsh” the dishes and to this day everyone knows how much I appreciate a clean house. Grams not a day will go by that I won’t miss you and  I can’t wait to see you again soon someday in heaven.

MY GRAMS! my fondest memories are definitely are Saturday morning breakfast dates. It was around 2-3 times a month. we go and talk about any and everything. There was nothing off the table with Grams and I. She would tell the best stories that were not only funny but taught me so much. She used to put me to work as well from helping in the kitchen (where my passion for cooking came from)  to working in yard. I remember one day I was around 11 or 12 years old. I asked Grams why do I have to the same chores as the boys  outside and the same chores as my older sister inside the house? Grams answered saying "I want you to only have to depend on a woman for one thing" Took me a long time before I realized what she meant but I truly do appreciate all the things she taught me all the advice she gave. I  will be sure to teach my kids all things she's taught me over the years. I  love you Grams.

Yesterday was beautiful day to honor you my precious mother in law!  Tears were shed and Laughter was heard as we shared our memories of you!  We all love and miss you! You will live forever in our hearts until we see you again! ❤️🙏💐

Laura taught me that there's always room for love. Thank you for showing my husband love so he could in turn show love to my son. You will forever be treasured in our hearts. 

Grams taught me many things over the last 38 years, but every time I think of her 3 things come up most in my mind. 
First, she taught me to be brave. I remembered this just recently when out to dinner with my family. I was trying to encourage my now 6 year old daughter Ruby to order for herself but she was too shy to speak to the waitress. I told her that it was ok to be shy and that mommy was shy too.... but, when I was little, Grams made me talk to people all the time and she even made me go up to pay the bill! Ruby said "really? when you were little like me?" Sure enough, when we went out the next week, Ruby ordered her own meal like a pro.
Secondly, Grams instilled a sense of wanderlust deep inside me. From early childhood through my teens we traveled often. In my younger years it would be road trips all through California. From Disneyland, to the coast, to SF, to Hearst Castle. You name it, she took me there. Some great planned adventures and some on a whim. One fond memory was taking the train to Salinas with Grams and my cousin Chris. We had just planned to go up and have lunch and head home. As our departing train arrived, Grams asked if we should miss our train? Of course we both agreed. We skipped happily away as the train whistle blew.  We booked a hotel and went swimming in our clothes. As I got older, the adventures became even more grand. I was fortunate enough to be Grams' travel buddy on not one but two tours of Europe. Grams may have been a stickler for the rules, but in Rome, you do as the Romans do. I will never forget going to the Cabernet shows in Paris or the wine tasting in Italy at only 15.  Whenever we traveled, she would always stash money in all sorts of odd places in case we ever encountered trouble. I remember finding cash in back ashtray of her car 3 weeks after a trip. With that we went for ice cream.
Third, Grams taught me to be Strong. This strength has made me who I am today and I hope that I continue to make her proud everyday.

There are no words for how much I will miss my mom. I feel so blessed to be her daughter. It is heartbreaking to say goodbye to my best friend, mentor... my loving mother. I am inspired by her and everything she has taught me to be able to navigate the rest of my life. I am grateful for the legacy she left behind. First, my mom was the patriarch and pillar of our family. I think she always will be as no one can fill those shoes. Besides, we've all seen that job... no one wants to do it. She was a mighty woman of god. This is where all her wisdom came to to play. She had a bible quote for every situation and the prayers to back them. Mom's advise was priceless and endless. She started a lot of sentences with " You should..." Most of the times if i didn't, I wished I would have. I think the bible verse that is the epitome of mom is in Proverbs, "She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat of the bread of idleness" Right?, Mom was always up in the kool-aid. Her energy was boundless and she was never found without a project. Lastly, I would be remiss if I didn't mention how mom loved to cook and how good she was at it! Hands down, the scripture mom said to me the most "The joy of the lord is my strength"... thanks mom... I echo with "her children rise up and call her blessed."

It was truly a blessing having such a great friend as Laura. She was a beautiful person both inside and out.

I worked with Our dear friend Laura at New Holland. I first met Her right after 1969 when She came to work for Us after transferring from The Fowler Plant. I was in the Warehouse at first and then in the office later... While She worked in the Parts Department. What enjoyable memories I have working with such a wonderful loving lady.
