On Friday, June 3, 2016, Henrietta G. Wells, age 83, went to be with the Lord. Henrietta was born on January 13, 1933 in Brownville, Texas, born to Salvador and Carmen Garcia. Henrietta met the love of her life in Brownsville, Texas, Samuel J. Wells then moved to Fresno when she was 23 years old. Together they had 8 children.
While a wonderful Homemaker, she participated in her children’s School functions, School activities, and worked at Sun Maid Raisins Co. in Kingsburg, CA, for 16 years, before retiring. Henrietta loved to pray her Rosary daily and shared the Gospel with others whenever she got a chance, and was grateful when she was able to attend Church. She also enjoyed traveling, and loved to dress up. Her favorite pastime was watching Wheel of Fortune every night and loved doing her word puzzle. Her family was the joy of her life.
Henrietta was preceded in death by her father, Salvador Garcia and her mother, Carmen Garcia, her husband, Samuel J. Wells, her sister Mary Martinez, her brothers, Cornelio Garcia and Frank Garcia.
She is survived by her sister Gloria Hernandez, five daughters, Carmen Cozby and her husband Kimber, aka Coz, and Norma Jean Liscano and her husband Vince, Maggie Roybal and her husband Danny, Elizabeth Wells, and Felicia Wells. Also her sons, Joe Wells and his wife Connie, and Alex Wells and his wife Gloria, and Daniel Wells and his wife Echo. She was the proud grandmother of numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, which brought so much joy to her life, and many beloved friends and family.
She was a very generous and a giving person who had a tremendous Zeal for life. Never wanted to be still or be home, always out and on the go. Other exciting moments in Henrietta’s life were, that she got to meet Kopi Stotoropolis from Ch. 26 during the Big Fresno Fair, and was so excited when she got to see herself on TV, it had made her day! Mom’s favorite junk food was “Chili Cheese Hot Dogs” and one of her favorite pastimes was going to the Casino and taking long drives out of town and to the Coast. Mom had a love for music, some of her favorite artists were, Los Tigeres Del Norte, Selena, Los Bookies, Los Barones and we could go on and on….
Our mom will truly be missed in our lives, but will never be forgotten! We love you Mom!
