Helen Jean Carroll

Helen was born on July 14, 1926, in San Diego, to John and Irene Dawson. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, John David; and seven of her sisters and brothers. She grew up in San Diego and graduated from Mercy College of Nursing in 1947. Among her forty years of nursing, Helen worked at both the old and the new St. Agnes Medical Center.

Helen was a loving and giving woman who adored her family and was a wonderful friend to many.

Helen is survived by her seven children, Kathy and her husband Bruce, Steve, Mary Jo, David and his wife Theresa, Chris and his wife Kim, Ginger and her husband Todd, and Will and his wife Sheilah. She also leaves 16 wonderful grandchildren, and one great-grandson, JK, Stephen, Erin, Annie, Brie, James, Patrick, Jennifer, Michael, Kevin, Katy, Cole, Mitchell, Hannah, Taryn, Reid, Samy Jo, and baby Landon. In addition, she is survived by her loving sister, Virginia Taylor of El Cajon.

The entire family would like to recognize and thank the Sisters and staff of the Care Center at the Nazareth House in Fresno.

A Memorial Mass and celebration of Helen's life will be shared on Monday, March 11, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul Newman Cen- ter, 1572 E. Barstow Ave. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Sunday evening, March 10, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. at the Nazareth House Chapel, 2121 N. First Street in Fresno.
