Esther Fernandez

She attended Fresno Schools including Roosevelt High, and then graduated from San Jose State University where she earned her teaching credential.

Esther started her teaching career in South San Francisco, CA and taught at Mayfair, Fremont and Winchell Elementary schools in Fresno. She retired after 38 years of teaching. During her retirement, Esther loved to fill her yard with flowers and traveled extensively to Europe South America Mexico, Australia, Hawaii and the United States. She always managed to include her Mom and Dad, Nieces Nephew and Sisters on her trips. As her parents aged, she devoted her life to being there in home care provider until they both passed away.

Left to cherish her memory are her sisters, Lupe Perez and husband David, Mary Gomez and husband Manuel, brothers Manuel Fernandez and wife Nancy, Jesse Fernandez and wife Theresa, Steve Fernandez and wife Karen, and numerous nieces and nephew whom she loved dearly.

Visitation will be held at the Lisle Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm.

Funeral Mass held at St. Agnes Mission Church in Pinedale, on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the SPCA or American Cancer Society.
