Born on November 22, 1954, to parents Juanita & Teoducio Alamano, Christopher was the youngest of six children. He spent his early years growing up in the farm community in West Fresno with his family and close relatives. Christopher shared a close bond with his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and cherished the memory of his grandfather introducing him to playing guitar. Chris grew up active in sports, specifically excelling in baseball and football at Memorial High School, where he graduated in 1972.
As a young man, Christopher began working for the City of Fresno at the Fresno Convention Center, which eventually would lead him to working at Fresno Yosemite International Airport as part of the Field Operations department. He dedicated over 30 years of his life to working for the City of Fresno. By the1980’s, Christopher began extending his family by getting married and having two sons, Orlando & Brian.
Things that brought Christopher the most joy throughout the duration of his life included, spending time with his sons, playing the guitar for friends (specifically his favorite John Denver songs), camping, fishing, hunting & being outdoors, coaching youth sports, cooking Filipino food for family events, traveling to the Central Coast, grabbing a cup of coffee at his favorite coffee shop (Mia Cuppa Caffe), sharing about his love for Jesus, and visiting with his “grand boys" in the “North Woods” of Minnesota.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Juanita & Teoducio “Ted” Alamano.
He is survived by his sons; Orlando (Denae) and Brian, his grand boys Samuel Christopher and Joseph David, his ex-wife Lori, his brothers Louis, Ted, Robert (Dolores), Daniel, and James (CR), nephews & niece Matthew, Bobby, and India (Damon), and sister-in-law Sylvia.
A memorial service will be held at God’s Family Church, 7272 W Shaw Ave, Fresno, CA 93723, on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 10 a.m..
