Bill Farmer was born April 21, 1935, in Caldwell, Missouri. Bill started with the California Department of Forestry and Mid Valley Fire District in May 1961 and worked as an Engineer and Fire Captain at Station 7, before he became the Forestry Equipment Manager (FEM) for FKU while the shop was located at Station 7. Bill led a hard-working life and retired after 28 years of service with CDF in May 1989. On September 13th, 2022, Bill passed peacefully at home with his loving wife Betty of 48 years, by his side.
Bill is preceded in death by Daughter Teresa Hendricks, parents Chapple and Clema Farmer and sister Janice Newton.
He is survived by son Michael Labrie (Avelena), 3 daughters Geneva Horlacher (Richard), Donna Wood (James), and Christina Paulos (Yonas), 24 grandchildren and 7 great¬grandchildren. He will be greatly missed, and not forgotten. God Bless Bill Farmer and God Bless America.
A visitation will be held Thursday, October 6, 2022, from 4-7 pm at Whitehurst Funeral Home located at 836 E. Nees, Fresno, CA. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10 am also located at Whitehurst Funeral Home. A Christian burial will follow Friday, October 7, 2022, at Washington Colony Cemetery located at 7318 S. Elm Avenue Fresno, CA.
