On February 21, 2022 our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister passed away. She is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Bette was born in Bowdle, SD. She attended school in Bowdle SD and after high school graduation, Bette moved to Denver, CO where she met Chuck and later moved to Fresno, CA and married Chuck. In 1967, she started working at Fresno Police Department as Records Supervisor until she retired in 1994. Bette and Chuck loved to spend time in their mobile home at Morro Bay where she had her collection of over 400 owls. Bette was an active member of FORCE. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for family and friends and for FSU football tailgates with Chuck. She was a great story teller, loved crafting with Shawna and Alyce but most of all she enjoyed going to the casinos to gamble (she was very lucky). She would bribe her nephew Shawn into taking her every few weeks. Bette loved to watch her great granddaughter, Jaydnn, dance. When she couldn’t attend the dance competition she would always figure out how to watch it live on the internet. Grandma Bette was her biggest cheerleader. Bette is survived by her daughter DeeNeece Nunez; grandchildren, Shawna Nunez, Justin Nunez and Shaneil Sanders; great grandchildren, Alyssa Cadena, Logan Soto, Jaydnn Mendez and Ruben Dominguez; and nephew Shawn Daly; all from Fresno, CA. She is also survived by her brothers Don Dickhaut and his wife Delores of Thornton, CO.; Jerry Dickhaut and his wife Judy of Glendive, MT.; and Rick Dickhaut of Castle Rock, CO; and sisters, Karen Kurkowski of Omaha, NB., Bev Pfeifle of Brandon, SD and Alyce Sutton of Fresno CA. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Chuck; and son Charles Warren Niles; and her parents, Henry and Evelyn Dickhaut of Tolstoy, SD. Rest In Peace to Our Beloved Mother, Grandmother, great Grandmother and Sister. You will be dearly missed by your family and friends.
