Arlene Mae Miller

Arlene M. Miller, of Fresno, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 25, 2016 at the age of 87. She was born in Bakersfield, CA to Darrell and Vera (Miller) Setty. She attended Tranquillity High School where Arlene met and married Frank Miller, Jr. on October 20, 1946. They were married 64 years.

Frank and Arlene soon went into the grocery business with Frank’s sister and brother-in-law, Bob and Pauline Wilson, forming Miller and Wilson’s Market. After over 30 years they retired and moved to Fresno.

Arlene was active in may church and community activities. She was a member of Woodward Park Church of Christ.

The family would like to thank those who cared for their mom.

Arlene was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; granddaughters, Cindy Miller and Stacy Miller (Cerde).

She is survived by her children, Terry Cowger and her husband Larry of Clovis, CA; Darrell Miller and his wife Diane of Tranquillity, CA and Nancy Alves and her husband Frank of Sanger, CA; her grandchildren, Ken Cowger and his wife Tami, Corey Cowger and his wife Kim, Rusty Cowger and his wife Michelle, Annie Dungan and her husband Keith, Aaron Miller, Josh Alves, Jennifer Cavazos and her husband Javier, and Jason Alves and his wife Sandra; and great-grandchildren, Kindle, John Clay and Cole Cowger, Julie and Erin Cowger, Indy Cowger, Christian Byrd, Savanah, Josiah and Zoe Dungan, Samantha, Joseph and Stacy Miller, Caleb, Seth and Joaquin Cavazos.

Visitation will be held at Whitehurst, Sullivan, burns & Blair Funeral Home on Sunday, May 1, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held at Woodward Park Church of Christ, 7886 N. Millbrook, Fresno, CA on Monday, May 2, 2016 at 11:00 a.m.
