Anna Marie Farris, age 69, passed away on Friday, August 20, 2021. Born Anna Marie Edwards on September 11, 1951 in Fresno, California, Anna was a lifelong resident of the Easton/Fresno area. She graduated from Washington Union High School in 1969 and married her high school sweetheart, Steve Farris, in September of that same year. While at WUHS, Anna was a letter girl with the marching band, was voted FFA Sweetheart, and was the May Day Queen during her senior year in 1969 and returned to transfer the crown to the next queen in 1992. Trained as a beautician, Anna often was the hairdresser or barber for many family & friends. She helped her husband with their business, Valley Dairy Construction, until the time of her passing. She also worked with the students of American Union Elementary School for many years, serving most of those years in the special education department. After her first “retirement,” she worked for a number of years with her son Stephen’s optometry office in Fowler, CA. Anna played many roles in the lives of people around her, but the roles she loved the most and will be most remembered by are those of Mom & Nana. A lover of all people and all animals, Anna spent her life helping those around her. She was a magnet for stray animals, and her home was filled with creatures of all kinds as she provided them with a loving second chance at life. The heart of the Farris family, she tirelessly worked to help make the lives of her family better in any way possible. God blessed her with a never-ending supply of unconditional love, and she was often the glue that kept her family together. She would prepare weekly Wednesday evening meals for the family, and was actively involved in the lives of her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. She was the most amazing wife, mother, Nana, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and friend. To know her was to love her. She was a difference-maker in the lives of so many family & friends and she leaves a big hole in the hearts of all who knew her. Though we are all heartbroken by her passing, we hold on to the joy of knowing that her absence from us means she is now in the loving arms of her Savior Jesus.
Anna was preceded in death by her father Ray J. Edwards and her mother Ethel Marie Edwards.
Anna is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Steve Farris of Easton. She is the cherished sister of sister Reba Bowden & husband Carl, brother Eddie Edwards & wife Janie, sister Janice Jung & husband Harold, and brother Darrell Edwards, all of Easton. She is the loving Mother of Christina Martin & husband Scott of Easton, Stephen Farris & wife Amy of Nampa, ID, and daughter Karina Edlund & husband James of Kingsburg. She is the adored Nana to grandchildren Haley & husband Matthew, Randy, Carter & wife Christina, Tanner, Trenton, Daisy, Sonora, Levi, Jude, & Zane, and to her great-grandchildren Aaron, Emma, Mason, Clara, & soon-to-be Kade. Those great-grandchildren to come will surely be told about the love their Nana would have lavished upon them. She is the caring and fun aunt to all of her nieces & nephews
