David E. Roudebush, age 77, of Angola, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024. He was born on October 19, 1946 in Noblesville, Indiana to the late Richard and Violet Marie (Johnson) Roudebush. David graduated from Fort Wayne Northside High School. he entered the United States Marine Corps following high school. He was stationed in Viet Nam, and served for four years in the Marine Corps. He married Karen C. Robbins on January 20, 1968 in Burr Oak, Michigan, they were married for 56 years. David spend most of his life working for Northern Indiana Fuel and Light (NIPSCO) retiring at age 59. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Indiana, the American Legion and VFW Post 7205, Angola, Indiana. David and Karen formerly lived in Pleasant Lake, and Fremont, Indiana. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved Holiday get togethers, and traveling with his wife on their many trips. David also was a big fan of the New York Yankees and IU Basketball. Survivors include his wife, Karen Roudebush of Angola, Indiana, children, Angela (Ryan) Shortridge of Quincy, Michigan, Michele Purkey of Fremont, Indiana, Michael Roudebush of Angola, Indiana, James Roudebush of Angola, Indiana and Richard Roudebush of Angola, Indiana, grandchildren, Tyler Burrell, Trenton (Brittany) Burrell, James Purkey, Ryan Purkey, Hannah Roudebush and Shawn Roudebush, great-grandchildren, Aiden Roudebush and Noah Roudebush, and a brother, Steve Roudebush of Centerville, Ohio. He was also preceded in death by sisters, Anna Marie Roudebush, Carolyn Kleinschmidt and Anita Brooks. Visitation will be held from 12 noon until 2 pm Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church, Fremont, Indiana. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 pm Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church. Rev. Jeffrey Teeple will officiate the service. Military Honors will be provided at the beginning of the Memorial Service by the Orland American Legion Post # 423 Color Guard and the United States Marine Corps Honor Team. Burial will be at a later time. Memorial contributions in his memory may be directed to Peace Lutheran Church.
