Family and friends mourn the loss of Officer Thomas Fazio, 30, who passed on Monday, May 1st after a long battle with cancer. A police officer with City of Fremont, Tom was honored as their “Officer of the Year” in 2010. Even after being diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, Tom continued to work at the department and served as an inspiration to those around him. Tom graduated from University of California at Riverside with a degree in Business Administration and was married to his beautiful wife Victoria in 2008. Tom had a wide range of interests and talents. He could often be seen riding his Ducati superbike or alternately working on or cruising around in his prized DeLorean. Above all, Tom cherished spending time with his family. A kid at heart and a true family man, Tom loved trips to Disneyland with Victoria and young son Ares. Tom took nothing for granted and appreciated his life in its entirety. His courage and fighting spirit motivated others to better themselves. Tom had strength of character, dry wit, and devotion to his profession, friends, and family. He can never be replaced.
Tom is survived by his wife Victoria, son Ares, father Bill Fazio, and his two sisters, Tarita Fazio Geniella and Tatiana Fazio. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Ann Fazio of San Francisco. Tom’s mother Lepeti Tuitele Fazio and older brother, Antony Maguali Fazio, preceded him in death.
