To the Rancourt Family,
Scott was a  very good friend of mine. I first met him in Mrs. Neffs 4th grade class at Higganum Elementary school were we used to make homemade maple syrup. We remained good friends  through out jr and high school. As I am writing this, I am playing three very important songs in the back round
Abraham, Martin and John by Dion, Patches by Clarence Carter, and to bring it home, I'm so lonesome I could cry, By Hank Sr.
As Dion is singing, I remembered how we were in Mr Halls fifth grade class when John Kennedy was assassinated. About a simpler time and of simple pranks that by today's standards would have seen so childish. But after all we were children. I remembered Mr Fucos shop class were we would make eagle castings on wooden plaques, that we would give to our dads. Maybe a nicknack shelf for our moms. About Mr Blakes history class and the girl I sat behind. About junior high dances.
Now Clarence is singing about hard times and I remember how even small town USA isn't immune from hardship and pain. About Vietnam and Kent State. How some kids would go off to war, and never come back. About car crashes and lost friends.
I remembered how Scott had a red Ford, and how he would pick me up in the morning to take me to school. And I can not remember how many times we actually made it. I remembered Hammonassett, and skipping school, of bomb scares and senior skip day. And how Scott always has a smile on his face. I remembered our friends, Curtis Thrall, Eddy Durnick, Eddie Addametz, John Tyler, Stanley Hanson, Rick Wallen, Ronald Crawford, and all the others. Now it's Hanks turn.

As Happens in small towns, right after graduation, seeking more opportunity, maybe more excitement, or maybe a little of both, kids leave and go their separate ways. Friendships that have nurtured since childhood, are now replaced for a promise of a better future. (?)
I lost contact with Scot right after high school when I moved to Massachusetts and got married. When I would come home on the holidays I would ask my mom how my classmates were doing, and she would bring me up to date. I remembered how I laughed long and hard when I found out Scott was a policeman. Not that he was not capable, it's just that you can not imagine the pranks we would do.

I am proud to have known him, and am a better person from that friendship.

To the Rancourt Family, you are in the thoughts and prayers of the Welks.

You were a great man and will be greatly missed.  I feel blessed to have know you and honored  to have called you my friend.  My deepest sympathy are with Arlene and the rest of his family.

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of my classmate from Haddam, CT. He was always regarded highly by his friends. I appreciate his service to our country. My prayers are with his family.

I will always remember the great times we had at the High School together. When Scott helped me out all the times I was in the scooter crashing it. Thanks for all the great memories.

You were so wonderful with both the kids and staff at MHS.  You always had a wonderful attitude and were so helpful.  people like you are few and far between.

Your dedication and professionalism over the years to the Milpitas community and to Milpitas High has and will be greatly missed. Fond memories of working together over the years will not be forgotten.

Scott was a dedicated person that loved what he did.
He was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone that needed it.
He never complained about those cold mornings he and Arlene were busy patrolling the High School Campus.
Arlene and Scott were truly a TEAM.  I know that he and his family are missing him terribly.  Rest in Peace Scott and know you are being missed by many.

No One can miss and feel it more than the children and spouse of a dearted loved one. My sincere condolance to you Arlene and your family. Remembering the 5 years that we worked together at MUSD.

It was great getting to know such a wonderful gentleman. Getting to work with him was such a great pleasure and we had some great times. Now heaven gets to experience the joy of your presence. RIP.

You made us feel safe Scott. We had so much confidence In your ability to deal with any situation. We have missed you so much these past two years. There's no one that can replace you. Rest in peace. You may not have left a large material legacy but you certainly left a great spiritual one. We can see it in all the people who have reached out to your family at this time.
