If anyone was a devoted Christian & an example for all of us,it was Nelda. If anyone is in Heaven, it is Nelda! She worked decades at Stanford University Hospital as a nurse in the kidney dialysis unit before retiring. If anyone is being missed now, it is Nelda. My sister-in-law, Nelda & my wife, Yolanda, are in Heaven together collaborating to pull strings allowed. They were both very giving Christian ladies. On the same day right after Nelda’s funeral & committal services we drove to the reception at my brother’s, Frank’s, & sister-in-law’s, Nelda’s, house In Milpitas, CA. I was with Yolanda’s & my son, Robert, & our daughter, Janet. Getting out of the car in front of the house, I couldn’t help but notice the sky was calm, peaceful, clear, & pleasantly blue, fitting for such a day in Nelda’s memory. In the sky approaching in a gentle smooth straight glide from the east, I saw what I thought was a turkey vulture like I had seen thousands of times before as a 30 year California State Park Ranger. I did not tell Robert & Janet because I had pointed out turkey vultures to them many hundreds of times before in this lifetime together, but I did take a moment to observe & appreciate this peaceful serenity above Nelda’s house on the day of Nelda’s final services here on earth. When that turkey vulture soared close enough approaching overhead, I could see clearly that the vulture had a white tail & head! It was no turkey vulture! It could only be a bald eagle, the symbol of our country! In my 72 years of life I have never seen a bald eagle over a metropolitan area. I had to tell Robert & Janet fast or they would miss this confirmation! Robert had his head in the car getting things & would have to get his head out fast to see, so I quickly blurted, “Robert look at the bald eagle as I pointed to it in the sky, now passing by straight above us. They were both quick enough to see the white head. Robert also saw the white tail. He said his first thoughts were, “There’s no bald
