William "Bill(Yogi)" L. Bayer

William L. Bayer, 79, passed away on 5/4/2023 in Spotsylvania, Virginia. Bill (Yogi) was born, raised, and lived the majority of his life in Ottawa, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy (Pohar) Bayer, daughter Lisa Boksa, parents Tony "Squeaks" and Mable (Seibert) Bayer, and brother Anthony "Chuck" Bayer. Bill is survived by two daughters, Patti Wickel and Kris Phillips; one son Bob Bayer; ten grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; brother Richard "Dick" Bayer and sister Mabel Brue. Family and friends are invited to attend the interment service at Oakwood Memorial Park Mausoleum/Chapel, 2405 Champlain St, Ottawa, IL, 61350, on Saturday, June 17th at 10:00 A.M. Following the interment service lunch for family and friends will be served at the Ottawa Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), 1501 La Salle St, Ottawa, IL, 61350.
