Sandra Gail Phipps

Sandra Gail Phipps, age 68, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at the Commonwealth Assisted Living in Stafford, Virginia. She was born on November 8, 1955 in Richlands, Virginia to the late Orien Kenneth and Connie Evelyn (Owens) Phipps. Sandra’s presence will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew her. Sandra went to college at East Tennessee State University and obtained a degree in Political Science. Sandra worked as a highschool teacher, technical writer and most recently a Senior Quality Assurance Analyst. Sandra adored her Grandchildren and loved to spend time with them. She was a huge animal lover and took loving care of a number of cats and dogs throughout her life. Sandra was passionate about history, politics, music and traveling. She enjoyed cooking and exploring recipes that reminded her of her family. Sandra was raised amongst a large and loving extended family. She is survived by her son: Christopher Morgan and wife Tracy; and two grandchildren: Jackson and Olivia. A memorial service will be held on Thursday October 3rd at 1:00PM at Fredericksburg United Methodist Church, 308 Hanover Street, Fredericksburg, VA 22401. A Celebration of Life will be held in Abingdon, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
