Patti’s life from start to finish was a journey around the globe. From a military childhood to being the wife of a Navy pilot, she was no stranger to adaptability. Born in Japan, she was the daughter of a World War II bomber pilot. Her life growing up was spent covering the the earth from Japan to Hawaii and many other countries in between. If anyone knew how to soak up all this life had to offer, it was Patti. Her favorite color was orange demonstrating her sunny disposition and zest for life.
Patti traveled extensively with her good friends seeing the world and enjoyed any interaction she encountered along the way. She never met a person she didn’t like. No matter who she met, she quickly struck up a meaningful conversation. She had a gift for it. She had a child-like belief in the scripture, and this was evidenced by her selfless, caring life. Patti lived her life without reservation bringing joy and beauty everywhere she went. Her favorite things to do besides spending time with friends and family were to play pickleball and tennis as often as she could. She was fondly known as Pickleball Grandma. With perpetual optimism, she lifted others up through compliments, lighthearted jokes, and highlighting every good thing she observed. She will be deeply missed by anybody who knew her and experienced the light she brought to their lives.
Always thinking of others, Patti served many with items she made for them through quilting, embroidery or sewing. She was continuously making precious gifts for others. These items are deeply cherished by their recipients as Patti ensured no gift was without meaning. She carefully thought about what she made and how to compliment the other person with each piece she crafted. She also practiced hospitality with the many animals she brought into her home and cared for with full devotion. Her most recent dogs, Shelley and Gwen, brought her complete joy and she called them her “girls.” Giving her all through her words, actions, and gifts, she touched this world in a way that will have an everlasting impact.
She is survived by her son, Richard Feierabend and his wife Sarah and grandchildren Mia and Ben; her daughter, Krista Hanus and her husband Mike and grandchildren Lauren and Michael; her brother, Jim McGovern; her brother, Michael McGovern; and her Mother, Eunice McGovern as well a large extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Feierabend.
